Hi everybody -
I've taken a break to work on my glorified Ozarks cabin/residence during this summer's sweltering heat (so that I'm not sitting in front of a frozen microphone as I did during our last brutally cold Missouri winter.) I produce Kaleidoscope at home, and so this is a bit of a priority. Hope you enjoy the summer reruns! I plan to begin producing new shows in September.
For those in our listening area, or who may listen to our stream online at
www.myk88.com , please consider supporting our station if you haven't done so already. KZGM recently passed it's first year in existence. Our manager is essentially in unpaid servitude - routinely putting in 12 hour days, sometimes even sleeping at the station so that programming can be done on time, and he's donated our studio space as well. Everyone else volunteers as best they can, and we're broadcasting not only some great locally produced shows, but stellar stuff from Pacifica and other independent producers.
This is a critical time since KZGM will soon be incurring additional network costs after a year's grace period from Pacifica. Programs aren't all free, and we need everyone who is interested in independent and progressive media to help keep our station on the air by becoming a supporting member, and also volunteering their time. If you own a business, please consider becoming a station underwriter. You can find contact information on our website.
Thanks,
Butch Kara
