I wrote a note about our full concept/rock opera albums starting, but may have posted it on a sight in an undisclosed location. Feb.6th is the big day. The show will be called Lava Lamping. Yes,the mood will indeed be lava lamp,s.fountain drink, and junk food of choice while lounging in a bean bag chair.
After the full concept/rock opera album we will air for your listening pleasures the songs that were also popular at the time of the albums release date. Cool,eh? After that I just heard called Cheese Please(I think that is the name). You may be asking yourself where is Mary Joseph Raphael? She will be on at another time. Something about being allergic to ducks. Or was the duck allergic to etiquette? Can't recall.
Quick definitions that I just found out after researching for this journey of listening visuals that we are preparing to take. Full concept album is one that has a continual theme. Rock opera albums tell a story. There are hundreds of them to choose from. Let me know if you have a favorite. Also, any feed back that you want to give will be read,or heard,or captured by carrier pigeon.
Let us begin... achris your guide to lava lamp living with music in the background

"Lava Lamping"... great show title. Looking forward to the grand debut Saturday!
You should definitely do a show about the Flaming Lips' "Soft Bulletin". A true chill-out-in-the-bean-bag-with-a-bag-of-Doritos concept album. Just add your favorite adult beverage. A modern classic.

with this musical quest that has begun,it would seem that my obsession is taking me in many directions. the soon to be played albums that we will experiment with are ones that I, as a mere 11( last count )rock opera/full concept owner, would never have dreamed of. There is a whole world to slip into that amazing artists have created for us. Stick with me ,kids at heart, this could be quite intriguing.
achris lava lamping, look at the pretty lights, what have we started indeed.pilot

Still planning non-noisy snacks. Also have crochet project at hand in case I can count stitches and listen (experience?) at the same time. Carry on, Capt.

Well, I missed the first full concept show! I thought it was on Sun. night! Was all set - the Saints were winning; snacks were handy! and I was a day late! PS - rat terriers can put fear in chipmunks and perhaps cause them to look for a new home! Hopefully they are territorial and won't allow any new friends to move in.

Chris, any plans to make the shows available for download on the web?
By web I mean the internet, not that massive spider web outside the back of the studio.

Nope dj Mark no plans for that. Plans make me dizzy, and cranky. Best to go with the flow. There is a whole world that I have dove into with this full concept/rock opera album culture, and I am going to just visually ride the lava lamp ride into each moment. achris

Ok if you are not going to make comments on what you think so far,I want pictures. Send me a picture of your bean bag chair,or lava lamp,or drink of choice,or food of choice(remember I am a non animal eater),or of what ever clever thing that has to do with full concept/rock opera lava lamping.
This is experimental conceptual time. I'm digging it,hope that you are on this journey with me. Much more fun in groups,I must say.

It is March Lava Lampers...you have survived a few sessions of full concept rock opera sessions.or have you? Still haven't heard anything, well I hear things all of the time. I mean heard anything as to you digging this or think that the lamp should go back into that dark closet of forgotten distractions.
There is so much to experiment with out there, fables, stories, musical interludes... All awaiting our arrival from the world of daily responsibilities to enter the world of imagination and music. cool...

Hey fellow lava lampers,I have bad news. Well, the really bad news is that our beloved Daniel Boone/Davy Crockett from our childhood has passed away. That was very sad.
The other news I have is that there will not be a lava lamping show this Saturday March 20th due to illness. The second part to Operation Mindcrime will be the 27th. Ick cooties are a downer.
So,how you doin? sorry, too many meds... achris

Sorry you are under the weather! We are too! (Mr & Mrs Kaykeduke). Did someone fly over with biological droppings they dropped from the air? Thank goodness the weather is not exactly inviting us out of doors. Get well soon!

April 10th show. Be prepared,or not it is a strange one. I am playing 'The Story of Simon Simopath' by Nirvana out of the UK in 1967. Considered to be the first full concept album. and quite a journey of psychedelic imagery. I play the stereo version, then talk about the story again, and play the older version. Not much differance in quality,I must admit, but the story is so out there that getting a second chance to understand and feel it is a must.
I hope that you enjoy this story of Simon Simopath and his quest for wings.
achris p.s.safety reminder the lava lamps get really hot, careful not to touch it(unless you are the type that want to know just how hot they can get then aloe vera is a splendid plant to have on near by).

Am being a night owl again, re-reading the Forum. Sometimes I get in a mood to contemplate problems, both personal and international (whew) and I am wondering if I may submit some of my problems to Ms. Mary Joseph Raphael for her solution? She may just say, "And I thought I had problems", or she may just make my life better. I'm sure she will - 'cause it will make me smile - or even laugh out loud? Let us know when we may submit problems. Of course we will understand if some of them cannot be read on the air for fear of whatever - FCC? Lawyers? Naw, I'm just talking about problems; common everyday problems; some of which a little baking soda and some sennae tea could solve. That just might make a good nightcap, come to think of it.

Dear Kaykeduke, Ms.Raphael is still in negotiating contract time. I hope that she will join us in some way soon. Until then perhaps I may help you with something? I am not just a humble pretty face that talks to a duck you know... You are an important part of what makes this radio venture an experiance to be present for. Thank you for being a listener and for just being you.
